Biography

My name is Rónán Mclaughlin and I am an Irish birder living in Cobh, Ireland. Originally from Malin Head I first became interested in birds at the age of 12. It is here were I learned to bird and started to take photographs. For my birthday that year my parents had just bought a pair of Tasco 10 x 50 binoculars. The rest as they say is history.

Moving on 21 years I always dabbled in photography from my first 35mm SLR to the modern equivalents, I decided it was time to move up to DSLR, Having started with a Nikon D80 and 70-300mm zoom lense, I quickly graduated to a Nikon D90 and Sigma 150-500mm lense which I continue to use. For "Digiscoping" I use a Nikon ED 111 fieldscope and P5100 camera. I do like to specialise in the wildlife particularly birds however you will find a section on various Landscapes taken around the coast of Ireland.

I try not to restrict it just to images of rare or scarce birds but I hope that there is something of Interest for everybody in this website.

Thanks for checking out my website and please feel free to drop me a line with any suggestions.
